Roofline Redo

The owners of an historic home with an underwhelming shed roof addition added by previous owners were wanting to improve the look of their home and mitigate the summer heat-gain of the heavily windowed, south-facing space.

The design response was to replace the flat shed roof with a matching hip-roof and continue the existing historic eave corbel detailing. The new roof will now have up-to-code or better insulation. The deeper overhangs, which developed naturally from the existing geometry of the architecture, will add a bit more protection from the intense Texas sun.
